To Be Like Angels

There are still those today who reject the Resurrection, and more who have never heard of what it means for us, today. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ means LIFE.

A Promise

In our human condition, we suffer, we struggle, and we die. However, in the Gospel today Jesus promises us that we will rise and be like the Angels. The Angels surround the throne of God, giving Him praise and worship, and even more amazingly, they behold the Face of God. In God’s light, there can be no darkness, no sadness, no sickness, no death, and this is the promise that we have as Christians.

For a moment, place yourself at the foot of the Cross- the pain, despair, and agony of losing Christ was unbearable. But then, imagine hearing the news of the empty tomb. Imagine going to the place where Jesus had been buried, and seeing the stone rolled away. Imagine being in that upper room when Christ appeared and seeing the miracle of Him being alive again.

Rise

Why did Christ offer His life for us? So that we may rise. So that we may experience Heaven. So that we do not have to fear death, but as St. Francis did, welcome “sister death” as the means by which we are able to be raised WITH Christ and be fully alive in the presence of the God of the living!
