Christus Vivit

“Speak, for your servant is listening (NABRE, 1 Sam 3:10).

In today’s Gospel, we encounter Jesus’ words. They command the obedience of a demon and the attention of the crowd (Lk 4:32.36). His words leave the people stunned: “What is there about his word?” (Lk 4:36).

What If?

Now, what if we were there? What if we really had the opportunity to sit in front of Jesus Christ and listen to Him speak? Imagine the power of His words captivating our whole being.

How would we react?

Every Day

This may come as a shock, but every day, we have that same chance to listen to His words. The same Jesus Christ, alive and true, speaks to us every time we read His words in the Gospel.

Every day, Jesus waits to speak to us behind the veil of the Sacred Host.

Every day, we have the choice to believe.

“Speak, for your servant is listening.”
