Have Courage

Yesterday we celebrated the Ascension of our Lord. For the last week, we have heard messages of the coming of the Holy Spirit, encouragement of acceptance, hope, the prophecy of hardship, and the promise that hardship shall not have victory.

Peace in Christ

Today’s Gospel reading, yet again, reminds us to find peace in Jesus despite the circumstances of life, despite what the world throws at you, and despite all the hardships there are guaranteed to be; God has overcome the world.

What does it mean to overcome the world? It means Jesus has conquered sin and death. Evil is no match for Him. When we live this truth, we live in the peace of Christ. The key here is knowing it is only through Him we can have this peace.

Have courage. Stay the course.

Amen.

[Readings: Acts 19:1-8; John 16:29-33]
