Lots of Gifts

Welcome

On this Friday of the fourth week of Advent, we have finally arrived at Christmas Eve. Hopefully, the churches are full of regular Mass attendees, as well as the “occasional Catholics” who seem to only attend on Christmas and Easter. All are welcome. Perhaps this is the year that the “occasionals” convert to “regulars”. Please do your part to encourage them!

Recognizing blessings

The readings today have God speaking to the prophets Nathan and Zechariah. They list the many gifts and blessings poured upon David and the Israelites. Enemies are destroyed, land provided, power granted over the wicked, and freedom to worship achieved. Those are some substantial gifts, and probably are at the very top of their “list” of what they wanted. We too have been given many gifts from the Lord, probably too numerous to count. Let us be thankful for them, as the Israelites were.

Many Thanks

On behalf of the GVM board and advisors, I would like to offer you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. We certainly pray that you and your families continue to be blessed with spiritual and physical gifts this year, and beyond. We will be working hard to continue to expand our reach to help those in need, and to help people around the globe enhance their spiritual lives. Thank you for your support this year, and for being part of the GVM community. We’re glad to have you aboard.

Remain Blessed!

[Readings: 2 Sm 7:1-5, 8b-12, 14a, 16; Lk 1:67-79]
