‘Tis the Season

GVM is a non-profit organization, and Father Maurice and I receive no financial compensation for our work with the ministry. However, it takes money to keep the website running, updated, and secure. It takes money to support Catholic missionaries in the jungles of Guyana, and to build the St. Faustina mission in Nigeria. It takes money to support the local poor in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. We rely on you, our audience, supporters, readers, like-minded Catholics and Christians, and curious observers for 100% of our financial needs. Without your financial generosity (and God’s abundant blessings), we would not be in existence today, almost 10 years into our GVM journey.

We would be grateful if you could make any sized donation, either one time, or on a recurring basis, to keep us up and running. The easiest way to do this is to visit the “donate” portion of the website at www.gratiavobisministries.org/donate . I will provide the proper tax documentation in the early part of 2023; in case you need to claim the donation against your taxes. You need to give Caesar what is Caesar’s, unfortunately. My email address is [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you very much and have a wonderful Advent and Christmas.

Halfway

The second purple candle is lit today, so we are at the halfway point of Advent. Just a few weeks until Christmas, but who counts!

The second reading today is from Romans, and we are told to work together and think in harmony with Jesus. All of us, together. We need to stick together today, as our world goes off the rails. The world is pursuing worldly things, not Heavenly. We are being brainwashed to normalize immoral things as moral, to accept wrong as right, and right as wrong. We are told to ignore God and believe in ourselves only or thought leaders on the internet. Our words and deeds matter, and we can make a difference in this crazy world. Let us try to be that light to the world, through word and action, to stem the tide of this God-ignoring world. The readings talk about having endurance to get the job done, so let us pray for endurance to keep at our appointed duties to know, love and serve God.

Remain Blessed!

[Readings: Is 11:1-10; Rom 15:4-9; Mt 3:1-12]
